A Season for Grace
One size doesn't fit most.
In this holiday season, let us remember that one size does NOT fit all.
In fact, one size doesn’t necessarily fit most.
There is so much fabulous variety in this world,
even among those who are similar ~ considered “the same.”
I’ve been really struggling with what to put out into the ethers ~
whether into your inbox or onto social media.
So much of what I see and hear can sound like there is one way to do…
Life.
Love.
Spirituality.
Career.
Relationships.
Anything and everything.
I’m sure this is partly due to marketing.
“Speak to the ONE pain point and answer it.”
And yet, it often feels irreproachable and constrictive.
Like labels.
Some people love their labels.
They wear them like badges of honor.
Lately, though, labels seem to be used more to set us apart,
when what the world truly needs is for us to come together.
Yes, we can all identify according to labels.
But what if, just for a moment this holiday season, we get quiet?
What if we forget the labels ~ yours and mine?
And give our essence some space.
What is it calling for?
Love.
Compassion.
Joy.
Ease.
Belonging.
Trust.
Safety.
At our core, aren’t we more alike than different?
And aren’t our differences lovely?
They’re interesting.
Colorful.
Intriguing.
And often, wonderfully humorous.
This holiday season, I would like to intentionally embody the virtue of Grace.
Grace keeps me connected.
Grace has faith.
Grace embodies gratitude.
Grace is loving kindness.
Grace lives in quiet joy.
Grace is radiant.
Grace has resilience.
Grace is forgiving, wise, compassionate, and generous.
Yes, please.
Grace, please.
More of that, please.
For you, please.
And for me.
May we meet this season, and each other, with a little more grace.
SKIM is an invitation to step out of labels and return to your own inner knowing, where difference can exist without division.
If this resonated, perhaps take a moment to notice where grace is asking to show up in your life this season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

kws
